There are a few reasons why the gas gauge stops working in a 2015 Chevy Cruze. The most common one is failure of the sending unit. The sending unit is constantly in motion as long as the car is moving. With time, contacts can wear and result in an open circuit. When this happens the gas gauge might interpret the feedback as the tank constantly being full or empty. Circuit problems is another common cause. Loose connections or corrosion are generally to blame here. In most cases, it's the fuel pump module that needs replacing. The gas gauge could have simply failed as well. If the internal circuits have shorted, it will generally sit at empty and never move, especially if the circuit is stuck in an open position. The least common cause is instrument cluster failure. If the entire cluster has failed, it will need to be replaced.

If the fuel gauge on the 2015 Chevy cruze is not working then it can be caused by a bad fuse, or a bad float or sending unit.
