Why is my 2016 Ford f350 steering wheel controls not working?

The 2016 Ford F-350's steering wheel controls may stop functioning due to a faulty steering wheel switch or typically a failed clockspring. It facilitates electrical connections between the airbag and horn and if not working may disable the controls. The clockspring is connected to the Steering Column Control Module which can also fail.
