If Your Kia Sorento's parking assist is not working it will not emit Audible warnings when objects are nearby. This can be for a couple of reasons. Parking sensors usually fail because they've become d***y or degraded over time. Road dust, debris and dirt collects in and around them, just like the wheel or speed sensors, and cause the technology to quit working. The solution is a simple one: have them cleaned and/or replaced. However, a recurring issue with Sorento owners involves the deactivation button in their vehicle. Many do not realize the assist features of the car can be turned off by deactivating the sensors. The button is located to the rear of the shifter and in front of the console box. When it is pressed it is activated and yellow. When it is not depressed, the parking assist will not work.

If your Kia Sorento vehicle's rear parking sensors are not performing it may be due to debris of dirt trapped inside them. Clean your sensors of oil or soot before reinstalling or replacing.
