If Your Mazda CX5 parking sensors are deviated, they cannot detect obstructions. The system may have a malfunction if the beep does not operate or the indicator light does not illuminate when the park assiSTSensors switch is turned on. But what do parking sensors do exactly and why are parking sensors so important Well a parking sensor is a device that helps park the vehicle safely, and gives You confidence while reversing. It determines objects or obstacles distance by bouncing the ultrasonic/ electromagnetic waves emitted by it, and then display the calculated distance between the obstacle and the sensor. Replacement parking assiSTSensors can cost You anywhere from $10 to around $450. The price of a replacement parking assiSTSensor largely depends on its compatibility with Your vehicle's year, make, and model.

If your Mazda CX 5 vehicle's parking sensors are not performing it may be due to debris of dirt trapped inside them. Clean your sensors of oil or soot before reinstalling or replacing
