If Your Acura ILX is showing a "Check Brake System" warning and won't turn off it can likely be an issue of low brake fluid. The recommended type is Genuine Honda Brake Fluid that is DOT 3 or Dot 4. You can check the required level by the markings on the side of the reservoir. If the light remains even after it has been filled, the fluid level sensor could be stuck. It is located in the brake master cylinder. The master cylinder itself may also require replacement which cost around $40 to $70 for parts and $210 to $180 for labor. In other cases the warning light may still be illuminated despite there being no present issues. In this case You will need to reset the light using an OBD scan tool. The port for the tool is located under the dashboard on the driver side. You should turn on the ignition without starting the engine and read the code. You can then press the delete button to clear the warning.

If an Acura ILX won't start and has a check brake system light you will need to use an OBD II scan tool to clear the brake code.
