If the bowden cable, which is a cable that provides a connection between the exterior door handle and the blend door actuator, has become damaged or broken, the door will no longer open from the outside. If the cable is broken or faulty, it should be replaced. This will cost You a range from $40 to $80 on average, and for parts alone.

Take a look at the door from the outside, when you pull on the lever to try and open the door you will notice a small hole/opening at the end of the lever this is only visible when you perform this action, at the same time squirt some penetrative oil lubricant like WD-40 in the hole/opening and hey presto the door should open..!

If the MINI Cooper passenger door won't open from the outside check the linkage from the handle to the latch.
