When the stop start system is not working in Your Land Rover Freelander 2 the first thing that You should do is make sure that it is enabled from the start stop button that is located on the dash. If it is on and it still will not work then that can be a sign of an electrical issue with the car. If Your car's electrical system is not working properly then there may not be enough charge in the battery to use the start stop system. The system will only work when the vehicle detects that the battery's voltage and reserve capacity is enough to start the vehicle. If this is below that threshold it will not turn the engine off since the battery may not have the power to start it again in traffic.

The start stop feature for a Land Rover Freelander 2 may not work for various reasons such as bad batteries in the unit, a defective KEY fob, or a faulty remote ignition sensor.

Definitely low battery, also won't work if temp is below 5 outside
