The remote start for a VW Atlas may not work which can be caused by a lot of different issues such as bad batteries in the unit, a defective KEY fob, or a faulty remote ignition sensor. You will first want to check and replace the batteries as it is the easiest and most accessible. The key fob uses CR 2032 batteries which are watch batteries and can be found at any major retail store with an electronics section. If the remote start is still not working You may have to take it to the dealership as they can run diagnostic tests and have the proper equipment to find out the problem. The key fob if broken or defective will need to be replaced and can run $200 - $300. If its the ignition switch it will cost about $250 - $400 depending on how strenuous the labor is.
