I have been wrenching on cars most of my life. I do most of my own car maintenance unless it is under warranty. I have torn engines completely apart and put them back together and have them back on the road the next day. I have worked in various jobs over the past 30 years within the automotive industry. These range from manufacturing automotive components to managing communications for various NASCAR teams. I believe that anyone with some basic hand tools and are at least a little mechanically inclined, can maintain and repair many issues in their own vehicles, if they choose to.
