2020 Jeep Gladiator

There are those who love to spend their weekends getting dirty on trails with their Jeep. Those people will enjoy the power the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport brings with it. This trim package could be ideal for those who want a Jeep that’s not just a Jeep but a pickup truck, too, just in case you need to do some work.

What are the special features of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport?

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is a fun pickup vehicle. It combines some key features of the hard-working truck, with decent infotainment and tech, and a solid 4,000 pounds of towing capacity. As the base model from Jeep’s Gladiator lineup, it’s a good combination of getting-stuff-done and looking cool while you do it.

Because the Jeep Gladiator is one of those vehicles with a lot of fun behind it, let’s take a closer look at what the Gladiator S has to offer today’s driver. You may find this vehicle has everything you need and then some, though it does have a few key drawbacks. Really want to know what people think? Check out the Jeep Gladiator’s Vehicle History.

What’s the 2020 Gladiator Sport Have to Offer?

When it comes down to it, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator was supposed to be that much-anticipated vehicle, the one that took the boring old pickup truck to the next level. The Jeep Gladiator does that. However, as a base option, the Jeep Gladiator Sport doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles you may be looking for in a vehicle.

Check out this video. It’s a clear breakdown of what the 2020 Gladiator Sport has to offer.

When you take a look at this vehicle, you’ll instantly love the look of the Jeep Gladiator. It’s a true combination of the iconic Jeep look with the mid-size pickup truck design. You can have both. The look itself is important – and there are changes such as a bit of extra lighting on the fender flare to offset the round headlight that is so well-recognized.

The front is simple and clean, with some lighting on the bumper along with tow hooks. The bumper material is also nicely positioned. An interesting change this year is how you open the hood. There are two bump stops on the middle of the hood. The reason? Oh, just to allow you to kick out the windshield if you feel the need. You just fold it down!

A versatile and capable truck, the fun 4×4 setup is what really makes this vehicle a standout. You’ve got the bed in the back, but you also have the same off-roading fun upfront.

The truck comes with a 17-inch steering wheel. There’s nothing too elaborate or fancy about the wheel, but that’s Jeep for you. Right above the wheel, there are nice little details like the side venting. Check out the hinges on the doors, too.

One of the keys to this vehicle is that it has a truck bed in the back. That’s what makes the Jeep Gladiator Sport a truly unique new version. When you go to open the tailgate, it has a built-in soft release, so you don’t have to worry about slamming it down. Inside the bed – which is a 6-foot bed – there are tie-downs to hold in place anything you plan to bring with you. The bed also has LED lighting, which is a nice touch.

Let’s Get Under the Hood Next

The Gladiator Sport is your trim base model, which means there are lots of additions you could have. This model offers a 3.6-L V6 engine. It has a six-speed manual transmission and provides up to 4,000 pounds of towing capacity. That’s the standard engine. You can upgrade to an eight-speed automatic 850RE transmission if you want more power.  This engine provides 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s a capable truck.

It offers a heavy-duty Dana 44 wide front axle and rear axle, while also providing a Trac-Loc Anti-Spin Rear Differential. That helps give it its off-roading capability even with that body style.

When it comes to fuel economy, the EPA estimate for the 3.6-L engine is 17 city and 22 highway for a combined 19 miles per gallon. Is that great? It’s not bad for a heavy truck.

We could go on about the exterior and powertrain of this truck, but let’s take a step inside because there are some nice upgrades in the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport as well.

You could go with the black interior color or switch it out for the black and heritage tan interior colors. One drawback – the seats are not heated in this trim model.

It also features the Uconnect 3 with a 5-inch touchscreen display. It has a solid picture-like quality. Sirius XM is available. Drivers can also select from several safety and security options, including Selec-Speed Control, Trailer Hitch Zoom, and daytime running lights – these are available, not included, features (which is somewhat of a letdown).

What’s worse is that most of the company’s driver assist features aren’t available for upgrades either. However, this vehicle did get a solid rating for most specs from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Is it Worth it?

We think so. The base trim model – the Sport – has a base price point of $33,545. The vehicle is solid and has good options for engine and performance. Yes, it’s a good-looking truck that offers the playful styling of the Jeep. If you love Jeep, you want this truck.

Before you dive in and buy the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport, check out the other trim options, including the Sport S, Altitude, Overland, Rubicon, Mojave, and North Edition. Prices hit around $45,000 at their base level.

Don’t stop there. Take one more step and check out what consumers are saying over at Vehicle History for your 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport .

Don't buy a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport yet or maybe ever
At 8,000 miles Electrical issues, die hard jeep fan but I had to have the factory steering box replaced as it was unsafe. AC comes on by itself when truck is turned on some times. Radio shorts out with a loud POP and resets to factory. Clock dosen't keep time. Dealership says no codes nothing they can ( will ) do. Radio numbers on volume screen are misinformed and distorted. Look at the Jeep gladiator forum. Many owners are in the same boat. I like the truck but if Jeep and the dealer keep ignoring and isolating owners, telling them basically to just deal with it, I will have to trade it in at a loss. Driver door has loud click poping sound from broken weld in the door, jeep wranglers and now gladiators have been getting this defect since 2018 and jeep has ignored owners and not fixed the defect. They will all eventually get the annoying sound. This truck depending how things turn out may just ruin Jeep for me. Which is heartbreaking...

General overview of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport.
No problems with anything in the truck so far. The truck performs well in all conditions. It has a short 5.5 foot bed, but hauls small appliances and kayaks well. The cab is large and has plenty of room for a family. There’s quite a bit of storage inside the cab as well. Most of the storage is lockable. The glove box and center console locks. There is storage underneath the back seats as well. This storage is not lockable. The roof is completely removable for an open air experience. All four doors are removable as well. The truck comes with the tools needed to remove the doors and the parts can be stored in a storage bin that is provided underneath the back seat.

Very user friendly and multi-functional 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport.
The jeep gladiator sport edition comes with an excellent tow package and I love how that makes it possible for me to tow a trailer for work and a tow a camping trailer as well. The ride is extremely smooth and comfortable and the vehicle can take on so much terrain so easily! It also has a truck bed, so that makes it really easy to take gear when I go camping. It also has a soft top, so it easily converts to a convertible and can convert back quickly if it starts to rain. The jeep gladiator is very user friendly! The only problem I have found is that sometimes the Bluetooth fails to pick up calls so there is no sound at times.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is not for short people.
I like the car overall. I have got a few issues with it but overall I’d give it a five out of five. The step to get into the car is too high in my opinion. I am five feet four inches and it is a bit hard to get into the car for me. The fact that the cars engine turns off to conserve energy at every stop also can be quite annoying sometimes, but I am learning to adjust. The steering functions are flawless though and it is a great all terrain vehicle, which is exactly what I needed it for.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is a fun truck and great on gas. Very easy to take off doors and roof!
I love the jeep gladiator, the convenience of being able to take the doors off and roof off in the summer makes it very enjoyable. Very good on gas and has done extremely well in the snow so far. This is a fun truck, I will end up buying it after the lease is up. The size is perfect, interior is awesome and the sound system is also fantastic. The truck bed is a bit small but that is okay as I really do not use it that often. Overall I love the jeep gladiator and how fun this truck is.

Upgrade your pickup truck to a j2020 Jeep Gladiator SPORT...You will not regret it!
I just leased a new 2020 jeep gladiator 4 days ago. So far no problems or any discomfort. Vehicle comes fully loaded. Has seat warmers and also a steering wheel heater. Many may say the vehicle appears too long but when driving the vehicle you do not feel any difference compared to driving the jeep wrangler 2 or 4 door. If you are an active person you likes to surf, snowboard, or own any jet skis or ATVs this vehicle is perfect to place your equipment in the back bed.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is the ultimate versatile vehicle.
The new jeep gladiator is so incredibly versatile! There are so many combinations you can do for the ultimate ride depending on the weather, your destination, your mood, and or travel companions that day. It is both a truck and a jeep, so it is super fun! It is also plenty roomy inside to feel like a car as well. And there are endless possibilities for accessories to add on to really make it your own. Everyone loves a unique jeep!

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sports have image easter eggs exclusive to the make and model you purchased.
Very easy to handle, great turn radius. Gas mileage is better than expected. Front seat is spacious but both front and rear seats sit higher than I would like. Having the ability to easily modify the vehicle with compressors and winches is also convenient. Good for off road with the right modifications and knowledge. Canvas top creates noisy cabin at higher speeds. Had a recall due to a factory issue with the differential.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport makes great family truck.
It rides very well, I average 50-60 on the highway, the cab holds me and my family with lots of extra space, have not figured out how to pop the roof and doors yet. But am expecting it to be fairly difficult, all and all rides well, comfortable, though one thing I am not a fan of is the buttons to roll down the windows are in the middle, not on the door. I recommend it, for sure!

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is the coolest midsize truck on the market.
I have not noticed any problems yet. Performance is great. Extremely comfortable. I love the apple CarPlay. The ride quality is great. The fuel economy is good too especially for a midsize truck. The interior is rugged but comfortable. The all weather floor mats are great! They have a drain plug so you can wash them without ever having to take them out.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is nice and is quite comfortable.
Acceleration is for the most part smooth. Braking is good. The interior is nice in my opinion and is quite comfortable compared to other cars I have had in the past. I haven't had the car for too long so I cannot speak on the reliability of the vehicle over an extended period of time but it is a nice car to have especially for a somewhat long commute.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport really does catch the eye, also it is easy to park for a car of Its size.
I absolutely love the jeep gladiator. I will probably never purchase another car as he will be with us for life! So well made and great to drive! Surprisingly easy on the gas as well, we drove all the way from Cape Cod to NYC on less than one tank of gas! Also really great on storage and makes it easy for road trips or moving.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport air conditioner not functioning.
Amazing vehicle! Stylish, comfortable, and wonderful features. However, most recently, there have been issues with the ac unit. After researching, it appears other gladiator owners have had similar issues. Currently waiting for recall. This isn't the best of the circumstance when you have small children in this 90+degree heat.

Cannot go wrong with this 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport!
Absolutely love this truck. The engine performance is great. Plenty of pick up with the 3.6l engine and the 8 speed transmission. Driving with the top off in the summertime is something my wife and kids really enjoy. For being a jeep, the mpg is great! I will definitely be buying another one for my next vehicle.

The only truck I'll ever buy again! 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport
Love my truck! It does it all and then some. Very versatile, smooth handling, great engine performance. Love the ability to take the top off. So many customization options it is insane! Whether you are planning on off roading, camping or just going to the beach, the gladiator will do it!

Jeep gladiator review 2020.
The gladiator is very high off the ground. The doors are also quite thin, therefore you can hear the wind when driving and makes it very loud. There is not a lot of space in the back seat. The car looks abnormal when you are used to a regular jeep wrangler.

Awesome to own and drive 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport.
My jeep is a really fun and enjoyable vehicle. I am happy with my decision to buy the jeep gladiator. I have always wanted one and it has not disappointed me. I would recommend anyone to buy a jeep. I get the gas mileage that is stated by the manufacturer.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport back is too small. But can still do everything a wrangler does
The vehicle looks nice but when trying to use the bed of the vehicle it falls short. You cannot pick up/buy and bring home any big item/furniture. I would just rather have a truck or a wrangler jeep not both. All in all I would not buy this vehicle again.

Overall recommend 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport. Lots of new good features.
Good gas mileage, plenty of backseat room, leather, back up camera, Bluetooth, touchscreen monitor, comfort seating, adjustable seating, good storage, truck bed nice. Safety features good. Ac/radio good. Abs brake. Outside temperature odometer screen.
