The 2000 Hyundai Sonata has either a 2.4 L 4Cylinder or a 2.5 L V6 engine that needS-10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil, You can also use 5W-30 or 5W-40 in below 95 F weather or 20W-40 or 20W-50 in above 32 F. The capacity for the vehicle iS4.5 quarts with a filter for the 2.4 L 4Cylinder and 4.8 quarts with a filter for the 2.5 L V6 engine and they both have a torque of 26 to 32 ft/lbs for the drain plug. Oil is really important because it will help keep the engine clean and with the lifespan of the vehicle. It is important to change the oil and the filter every 7,500 miles or so because it doesn't last forever.
