The 2000 Nissan Frontier oil type and capacity iS5w30 and 3.7 quarts. Having high quality oil is key for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into issues with the oil at some point. A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. Bad oil can cause the engine to fail. Knocking noise may show up from the engine. You could experience poor gas mileage. Your oil needs to be changed out someday. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be problems with the engine.

The 2000 Nissan Frontier comes with two engine options the 2.4L inline-4 or the 3.3L V6 engine. The 3.3L V6 3.5 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil. The 2.4L inline-4 is a little different. The Frontier comes in either RWD or 4WD, and that affects the amount of oil needed. The 2.4L inline-4 that is RWD requires 3.7 quarts of 5W30 synthetic while the 2.4L inline-4 that is 4WD requires 4.1 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil.
