The standard engine that was made available in the 2002 Dodge Durango was A4.7L V8. Dodge also offered A5.9L V8 as an upgrade option. The standard engine will have a capacity of 6 US quarts while the upgraded 5.9L engine will have a smaller capacity at 5 US quarts. These numbers are when the filter is included. No matter which engine model You have they will both need to run on 10W-30 synthetic motor oil. If You live in a freezing in a environment then You should use 5W-30 instead. The oil is going to need to be changed in these vehicles every 7,500 miles.
