The 2003 Toyota Tacoma useS5W-30 full synthetic motor oil as the recommended oil. All trims of this vehicle come with A6 quart capacity on their rear wheel drive versions, and 5.8 quarts on 4-wheel drive ones. Using the correct oil recommendations set by the manufacturer is a good way to keep Your engine nice and running smooth. It also extends the life of the car. Maintenance is the most effective way to get the best out of Your car in the long run. A routine change every 3500 to 5000 miles can make a huge difference in performance. It costs about $100 to $145 to get one done, and takes less than an hour usually. You can also save money on this by learning how to do it, and buying Your own oil at Autozone or similar auto stores.

The 2003 Toyota Tacoma comes with the option for multiple different engines based on what the owner desires: the 2.4L inline-4 requires 6 quarts of oil the 2.7L inline-4 (engine code [M] 3RZ-FE) needs 5.8 quarts (4WD) or 6 quarts (RWD) the 2.7L inline-4 (engine code 3RZ-FE) uses 5.8 quarts (4WD) or 6 quarts (RWD) the 3.4L V6 option (engine code [N] 5VZ-FE) needs 5.5 quarts and the 3.4L V6 engine (engine code 5VZ-FE) uses 5.5 quarts. All the engine options available in the 2003 Toyota Tacoma all use 5W30 synthetic oil.

I own a 2003 4wd Tacoma. It does not use full synthetic. It requires 5w30 conventional motor oil. Per the manuel. I've owned this vehicle since new. Enough said.
