The 2003 Toyota Tundra came standard with a 3.4L V6 engine but there was also an upgrade option available for a larger and more powerful 4.7L V8 engine. Both engine models will need to use 5W-30 synthetic blend oil. The capacity for the V6 model will be 5.5 US quarts while the V8 model will have a capacity of 6.6 US quarts. These measurements are both when the filter is included. The oil drain plug will have a head size of 12mm and will require 18 lbs-ft of torque to remove it using a torque wrench.
