There are two trims to the 2005 Kia Optima. First is the base version of 2.4 L inline 4, and takes about 4.5 quarts of the 5w-20 synthetic oil. The other variant is 2.7 L v6 and with the requirement of 5w-20 synthetic. In cases where the 5W-20 oil is not available, 5W-30 oil can substitute it for the time being. But it is recommended to revert back to the 5W-20 on the next oil change if You were previously using this one, for optimum performance of Your car. However, both are recommended for general use. Change the oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles for the best results. If You are someone who does their own oil change, then You can visit Autozone or Walmart to purchase the needed oil.
