You'll want to use a full synthetic 5W-30 engine oil for the 2005 Nissan Frontier regardless of the engine that You have. But the 2.5 L will takeS5.2 quarts of oil while the 4.0 L V6 need 5.4 quarts. Nissan also mentioned that they'd recommend You choose an energy conserving oil which is slightly better for fuel efficiency when compared to other oils. The difference is really only about a 1.5 to 2 percent increase so it's not dRamatic enough to go out of Your way to use it if You've got something else available instead. It is always a good idea to try and stick with the fluids and filter that the manufacturer recommends though. -
