The 2006 Chevy Impala came witH3 different engine options which include the base engine 3.5L V6, a 3.9L V6, and 5.3L V8. The capacity for Your vehicle will depend on which engine it is equipped with. Both of the V6 models will have a capacity of 4 US quarts while the V8 model will have a capacity of 6 US quarts. No matter which engine is in Your vehicle they will all need to run on a fully synthetic 5W-30 motor oil. You will want to change out the oil on this vehicle every 10,000 miles or 12 months to avoid causing long term damage. This vehicle comes equipped with sensors that will let You know when it is about time to do an oil change.

Both versions of the base engine for the 2006 Chevrolet Impala the 3.5L V6 (non-flex fuel and Flex fuel compatible) require 4 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil. One of the optional engines the 3.9L V6 needs 4 quarts of 5W30 also. The largest engine option available for the 2006 Impala the 5.3L V8 has an oil capacity of 6 quarts and Chevrolet recommends 5W30 synthetic oil.
