Bought in 2015 with 160k on the odometer; currently almost 220,000 miles and still runs terrific. I have replaced a starter, a couple sensors, wheel bearings and water pump. Also replaced thermostat during water pump replacement. The most challenging repair I did was a power steering line that was rubbed enough to create a leak, but was still able to get it accomplished myself in the driveway. I don't consider these things to be a real testament against reliability because of the high mileage. Keeping up with basic maintenance is important as always but keep in mind these things can and will happen with any make/model as it ages. For comfort for the year it's decent. Heated seats still work well and other than needing a recharge, AC is still cold. It has plenty of power and acceleration and still capable as a vehicle for a smaller family.

The most important thing to know is that if you're buying used, make sure it's under 90k miles or you'll run into trouble. Always check for rust.

I've always wanted an impala. I've always said Chevrolet were good cars. Roomy.
I am currently having problems with my left driver front tire or rod.. When I turn left the tire locks up and the car hesitates.. I feel like it's unsafe. I can turn right but my left turn needs to be looked at. It just recently started doing that. Thought it was the brakes, got the brakes changed and it still not the problem.

Chevy Impala 12 yrs. Old gets good gas mileage.
I have a 2006 Chevy Impala ls. I have had for 6 months. I have had to replace the alternator and battery when I flew home for the summer. So other than that it is great. It is spacious and gets good gas mileage. For as old as it is I think it is ok. I paid about 1600 for it.

It is a good working car that needs a little fixing up to it.
I got it during tax season from a used cars market. It is okay; though a fixer-upper. It needs new tires, it was previously in an accident before I got it and there are a few engine problems. Probably around $500 to fully fix, in total. Aside from that the car is swell and it gets the job done.

No problems but brake lights comes on for no reason. Mostly it is low maintenance. V6 engine but drive the speed limit and you can run off of twenty five dollars a week.

2006 Impala ses--fast and furious.
This is an Impala ses, which has the v8, 5. 3 Liter engine. It is super fun, moves well, and has a feature that will drop it down from 8 cylinders to 4 when you are on the freeway and have set the cruise, so you get better gas mileage. Leather seats and a moonroof are added bonuses.

Very dependable ride for years.
The vehicle runs fantastic however there have been little things have gone wrong over the last three years. The rear window defroster does not work there have been various electronic features that do not work radio warning lites, lock in the glove box.

Reliable, attractive, enjoyable car
The Chevy Impala is a great car, and you see a lot of them driving around, so the proof is in the pudding. Great performance, attractive interior and exterior. My only criticism is that the front seats aren't really built to accommodate a short person comfortably; my head doesn't rest against the headrest. Otherwise, great car all around!

Good mileage. Comfortable.
This sedan has been very reliable but when first purchased something was wrong with the battery. The car dealer took it in to check and again it had a problem. I finally took to a mechanic to check the battery and it had some bad cells so was replaced. Apparently the battery put in by Chevrolet was not good. I am very comfortable driving my car but would like some of the newer features offered in the newer vehicles as brake assist and visual for backing up. . Since my car is getting to old been looking at possibility to purchased. Being smaller engine has very good mileage.

Amazing, Spacious, and Reliable.
The Chevy impala is extremely spacious. We have a 6'5 male in our family and a son that is not too far behind. They both can fit comfortably. The car itself is very reliable. We have driven it across country without problems. It is a 2006 and we've only had to buy new tires, a new battery and about $100 in replacement parts. My fiance replaced everything himself. Thru internet video sites, you can easily find how to do it and with the Chevy impala it is extremely easy. I would 10/10 recommend this car to anyone.

It comes fully loaded with leather seats, 7 speaker Bose system with satellite radio and sunroof. Also the car shuts down 4 cylinders automatically to save gas when driving casually.
I don't like the gas mileage and that it only prefers premium fuel. It has a strong V8 engine with throaty exhaust note. I don't like the weak suspension.

My wonderful Chevy Impala!!
This vehicle is 100% reliable. There are a few small plastic pieces that I have had to replace since I got the car, all the major parts run well and I have had zero problems. It has and ample amount of space. It is comfortable for long drives and has excellent gas mileage. I get paid bi-weekly and a full tank last between paychecks.

I love this car!! It is absolutely amazing and would totally buy it again.
My 2006 Chevy impala, is amazing. It gets great gas mileage, and has a very smooth ride. It is only a two wheel drive so it handles decently in snow and ice. There is a large trunk space. Seats four comfortably and five cramped. I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet. I am the second owner and it is in amazing shape. All electric windows, locks, and drivers seat. Ample leg room in both the front and back seats. The break is a little touchy and the gas is a comfortable press. You can hook up XM radio and it comes with an aux input. It comes with AM, FM, and a CD player. I would recommend getting a block heater if you live somewhere cold, also getting auto start has saved my life. It only comes with the standard two sets of keys, but I invested in a third.

A Good Buy for a Used Vehicle
This car is something we bought used. It has been extremely dependable through all kinds of weather. The interior heats quickly during the cold weather and both the air conditioning and sunroof make the car comfortable in the heat. I have mine for 2years now, I have a lot of problems with the steering, it gets very stiff, I have had it fixed twice now and I still have some problems. I called Chevy city to see if they had recalls, but they say no, other then that I love my Impala.

The vehicle has some problems at times with the tires. The transmission mest up a time or two but we applied a new transmission. The car needs a new paint job the front is off with the paint and there's is also a black spot on the left driver side of the car.

Tinted windows and full size tire.
My impala is the package. I really enjoy the size and how comfortable it drives. It came with a full size tire so changing a flat is difficult with the jack it comes with and it does not have access to the trunk from the inside cab. The cup holders could be placed different and it has no ashtray or cigarette lighter.

This is a great car it is fast and reliable the only problem with it is that the heater makes a knocking sound every so often and the windows make a loud screeching sound when they are rolled down but other than that it is great for getting my family around and even has a seat belt reminder for the passenger seat.

I am having a lot of problems with my car and only had it for 3 years.. My engine is shocked right now.. It makes like a real loud knocking noise when I drive it.. I love the make and model of my car. Chevrolet is a great brand I wouldn't drive anything else. I love the look and style of the Impala. They run great and last quite awhile. The only problem I have noticed is that the transmission in Impalas usually go back or need repaired quicker than most, but overall I couldn't complain about my car.

Great car with some faults
After so many miles the transmission needs replaced. It's amazing on gas on highway/interstate but in town is terrible. It's a fast little car. Love the heated seats. Like that all seats are leather so when kids spill, it's easy to clean. With regular maintenance it stays in top shape.

Power, comfort, and reliability.
I love my 2006 Chevy Impala. It's comfortable to drive, there is plenty of legroom for passengers and car seats in the back seat. And plenty of room in the front seats as well. The 3.5L V6 has more than enough power and beyond basic service, I have had no problems with my impala.

This vehicle has an overheating issue. I have gotten the radiator completely taken out and new one was put in. I just found out I have a broken head gasket. It runs great on gas! I did get sealant put on the broken head gasket and it hasn't overheated again!

The Impala is the car you should buy.
The Impala is a great car with great mileage. It's roomy, so you can take your friends places. The only issue I'm having is a rust spot on the top of my car! Otherwise it's the most reliable car I've ever had. The Impala is fun and easy to drive, and the seats are comfortable.

Old reliable, perfect for students.
It is extremely reliable, for being over ten years old or only had to take it to the shop once for a minor issue. For a student like myself, a low maintenance vehicle is exactly what I needed! It does not have all the new fancy tech, but it is inexpensive to care for and also gets great gas mileage.

Driving an older Chevy Impala.
I drive a tan 2006 Chevy Impala lt. It has an luxury interior and very spacious. Due to the age of my vehicle my car does not drive as smoothly as it would if it were a newer model. The engine still runs perfectly. What I mean by it not driving as smoothly is it you can hear the bumps and the outside noise. A vehicle should be quieter. It is reliable and I can trust my vehicle on 2-4 hours drives. I would not trust my vehicle on 8 - 10 hour out of state drives due to age. I'm a resident of mobile, al.

Okay if you have to drive, but not my first choice
I had the engine replaced, the axle snapped in half 6 months ago and it just generally would make a better paper weight than car. I know it's 10 years old but it's not fun to drive, the door was squeaking so bad you thought the car was tipping over and dying.

Oil Pressure Gauge Problem
Oil pressure gage fails and misreads that the oil pressure is low and The light comes on and starts a constant ringing sound it goes on and off the bell is sometimes very loud and very annoying I didn't see if this problem is a recall. I'm hoping to get this fixed but it's a very expensive fix

There's not one like it and only 106 thousand miles on the odor.
It runs good and drives good. It has am/FM and CD player all electrical windows, doors, mirrors, heated back window defrost, and seats for comfort. Big spacious truck for groceries or traveling with luggage room. Automatic transmission been serviced on regular mileages bases with new tires mounted and balanced rotated as needed. Default it has a salvage title two tone gray almost same color but one shade is darker on drivers door, backdoor and back bumper, as well the spoiler it is black but all and all it is been a great car.

I think it's great overall. The only thing a miss is my actuator is loud and needs replaced. But it makes cold ac temp in the car.

Make sure to get winter tires added onto the vehicle.
I love the room in my vehicle, in the front and back seats. I love the gas display behind the steering wheel. I love the menu display behind the steering wheel.

Amazing car. 06 Chevrolet Impala review honest.
It is an amazing car the air conditioning works great and plenty of legroom. I am impressed with the fact that the seats in the back of the car come up which helps with storage one thing is the long back makes parking a problem so beware of that fact other than that is great car I recommend it to anyone honestly.

It's a safe, reliable car.
It's a good car that I haven't had many problems with. The front hangs really low and gets caught on curbs often. It has fake wood paneling inside that dates the car. It's a big car and I think is rated high on the safety scale. It has a sunroof which is nice.

It works, just keep fluid in it.
The power steering lines leak. Even though it has fluid the power steering still does not work. The transmission burns fluid if you rev the engine to high, then it smokes for a few minutes. And the blend door motor randomly makes a knocking sound. It doesn't affect anything functionally but it sounds annoying when it happens. And it will happen even when the car is off.
