The 2006 Dodge Charger uses SAE 5w-20 viscosity, fully synthetic motor oil in its 2.7 liter v6 engine. The vehicle has an oil capacity of 6.0 US quarts. The 3.5 liter v6 engine also holds up to 6 quarts of 10w-30 oil. You can find these oils at any maSSRetail location. You can also find them at an automotive parts and accessories store, or online from trusted sellers. You can expect to pay between $4.16 and $14.32 per bottle. If You choose to have the change completed by an automotive service technician, or by a mechanic, You can expect to pay an additional $52 to $135 for labor. You may also want to invest in a $1 to $3 funnel, to help prevent spills during the exchange. An oil change should be obtained every 10,000 miles, or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

The 2006 Dodge Charger's base 2.7L V6 engine uses 6 quarts of 5W20 synthetic oil. The next bigger engine the 3.5L V6 also has an oil capacity of 6 quarts but it needs to be 10W30 synthetic. The optional 5.7L V8 engine in the 2006 Charger takes 7 quarts of 5W20. If your 2006 Dodge Charger's 5.7L V8 comes with an MDS set-up, Dodge requires the use of 5W20. Dodge's powerhouse 6.1L V8 engine which needs 7 quarts of 0W40 synthetic oil.
