The 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe useS4.8 quarts of oil with the 2.7L V6 engine, or 4.5 quarts with the 3.5L V6 engine. For both engines You should use SAE 5W-20, and Hyundai recommends using fully synthetic oil when You need to change it. Oil comes in two major varieties, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is engineered in a lab to provide You with the best protection for the components in Your engine and conventional is just made from petroleum. Synthetic oil also lasts longer and will only need to be changed every 7,500 miles compared to every 3,500 to 5,000 with conventional. Always check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is full and free from debris or damage.
