The 2006 Mazda3 came standard with a 2.0L 4Cylinder engine and had an upgrade option for a 2.3L 4Cylinder engine. No matter which model You have they will both have a capacity of 4.5 US quarts when the filter is included and both will need to run on synthetic 5W-20 motor oil. The oil on this vehicle will need to be changed out every 7,500 miles. If You are going to do this job on Your own You can expect to spend between $20 and $35 in oil costs. If You want to take it in to a shop the coSTShouldn't be more than $125.

The base 2.0L inline-4 engine and the 2.3L inline-4 for the 2006 Mazda 3 requires 4.5 quarts of oil. Mazda recommends the use of 5W20 synthetic oil.
