The 2006 Mercedes benz C-Class takeS8.5 quarts of oil and uses FS 0W-40 synthetic oil. When performing an oil change on the car You will first want to make sure that the vehicle has been parked and off for a couple of hours. Otherwise, the oil in the car will be very hot and You could burn Yourself. Find the oil pan in the engine compartment and locate the drain plug on the underside. Position a bucket under the plug and then remove it. This will allow the oil to drain into the pan. Let it do this until it stops dripping, which may take an hour or so. After it has finished dripping You can put the drain plug back on, then locate the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Using a funnel fill the oil pan to full, but make sure to not overfill. A little under is fine, but going over can lead to leaks and oil burn off. Once it is full close the port up, wipe up any spilt oil and You will be finished.

Mercedes-Benz offers the C-Class in three different models: the C230, the C280, and the C350. Each model has its own engine options. The 2006 Mercedes-Benz C230 comes standard with a 2.5L V6 engine that takes 8.5 quarts of oil. The 2006 Mercedes-Benz C280 has a 3.0L V6 engine and it uses 8.5 quarts of oil. The 2006 Mercedes-Benz C350 has the 3.5L V6 engine that needs 8.5 quarts. Mercedes recommends multiple oil weights depending on the temperature. Also, Mercedes allows for different weights for a single weather condition. The following weights are for all three models of the 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: most temperatures=0W30/5W30/0W40/5W40/5W50 above -4 F=10W30/10W40/10W50/10W60 above 5 F=15W40/15W50 and above 23 F=20W40/20W50.
