The 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe has either A4.8 L V8 or A5.3 L V8 engine that should be usinG5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil in all temperatures. The capacity for both iS6 quarts with a filter and the torque for the drain plug is 18 ft/lbs. 5W-30 means that 5 is the thickness or the viscosity of the oil at startup, w is for winter and 30 is the thickness/viscosity of the oil at operating speeds. It is important to use oil because it helps to keep the engine clean and different parts lubricated to help with friction. Oil doesn't last forever so You should change it and the filter every 5,000 miles or so. It only takes about 5 to 20 minutes to do a change.
