Regardless of the engine in Your 2007 Dodge Durango it is recommended that You use a synthetic 5W-20 engine oil. The 3.7 L V6 has A5 quart capacity and the V8 engine options have A5.9 quart capacity. Try to keep up with Your regular oil changes which should be every 5,000 miles if You're using a conventional oil and 7,500 if You choose synthetic. If You're planning on making the change YourseLFAnd have the tools already, You can get A5 quart bottle of oil for about $25 and add on another $10 for a new oil filter. You'll definitely save some money by not going to a dealer if You don't mind getting a bit d***y. -

The available engine options for the 2007 Dodge Durango all use the same weight and viscosity oil 5W20 synthetic oil. The base 3.7L V6 engine has a capacity of 5 quarts. Both versions of the 4.7L V8 (the non-Flex fuel and the Flex fuel compatible) require 5.9 quarts worth of oil. The 5.7L V8 engine option, takes 7 quarts of oil.
