For best performance it is recommended to use SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil in the 2007 Nissan Altima for both the 2.5 L 4Cylinder and the 3.5 L V6 engine. The capacity for the car iS4.9 quarts with a filter for botH2.5 L 4Cylinder and 3.5 L V6 engine and the drain plug has 25 ft/lbs of torque. You need oil because it will help keep the engine clean and parts lubricated to help with friction when they rub together. Oil tends to go bad after a while so it needs to be changed every now and then. In the Altima the oil and the filter should be changed every 5,000 miles or SRX months, whichever comes first.

The 2.5L inline-4, with engine code QR25DE E, for the 2007 Nissan Altima uses 4.9 quarts of 5W30 formulated synthetic oil. The altenative version of the 2.5L inline-4, engine code QR25DE F, takes 4.9 quarts of 5W20 synthetic based oil. The 2007 Altima with the 3.5L V6 engine needs 4.9 quarts of 5W30 synthetic formula based oil.
