The 2009 Honda Pilot useS4.5 quarts of SAE 5W-20 oil when You need to do a full oil change. Honda recommends that You use fully synthetic oil as well for greater wear protection. Oil comes in two major varieties, conventional petroleum based, and synthetic engineered. Synthetic oil can provide greater lubrication and protection to Your engine. It will also last longer without breaking down. On average conventional oil needs to be changed every 3,500 to 5,000 miles compared to synthetic which can go 7,500 miles between changes. I recommend checking Your oil often to make sure that it is free from debris and signs of burning. This can help protect Your engine for a longer life.
