The 2010 BMW X5 useS6.7 quarts of oil for the V6 versions and the V8 useS8.5 quarts. Both of the engine uses SAE 5W-30 oil, and BMW recommends that You use synthetic whenever You need to change it. There are two main types of oil that are on the market, synthetic and conventional. Conventional uses older technology, and synthetic uses newer technology and engineering to give You better protection and longer life. This means You will only need to change it every 7,500 miles compared to conventional that needs to be changed every 3,500 to 5,000 miles. You should check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is full and free from debris and damage.
