The 2010 Chevy Colorado had 3 different engine options. The stock 2.9L 4Cylinder and the two options were a 3.7L 5-cylinder and A5.3L V8 engine. The stock motor is going to need to run on 5W-30 unless You live in a freezing climate then You will need to use 0W-30 to avoid the oil freezing. The capacity will be 5 US quarts, filter included. The 3.7L motor will use the same oil as the stock one but it will have a larger capacity of 6 US quarts. The largest engine, the 5.3L V8, will use 5W-30 just the same but if You live in a freezing environment You're going to need to use 10W-30 on this one. The capacity will also be 6 quarts.

The 2010 Chevrolet Colorado recommends using only an oil that meets GM Standards GM6094M. The SAE classification 5W-30 is the best engine oil for the 2010 Chevrolet Colorado. The 2010 Chevrolet Colorado 2.5L L4 engine oil holds 5.0 quarts (4.7 Liters) and the 3.6L V6 engine holds 6.0 quarts (5.7 Liters).
