Though the 2010 Honda CR-V may look like a rugged SUV, it's not really built for towing. Driven by just a 2.4L 4Cylinder engine, Your towing capacity tops out under a ton -- 1,500 pounds, to be precise. It's able to generate only 161 lb-ft of torque (at 4400rpm). It does, however, offer between 1,006 and 1,174 pounds of payload capacity; that's a decent amount for a compact sport utility vehicle, but nothing to write home over. The most tongue weight it can support is listed at 200 pounds, but it's not recommended to exceed 150. Attempting to achieve higher towing numbers can lead to serious issues with Your transmission, so it's not recommended. If You need a vehicle for towing, there are plenty of larger SUV and truck options.
