The 2018 Nissan Versa's recommended oil capacity by the manufacturer iS3.1 quarts for the 1.6 liter engine and 4.3 quarts for the 1.8 liter engine. The recommended type of oil for the vehicle is SAE 5w-30 and should have an approved API certification mark to make sure it is of the proper quality. The owner's manual also recommends that You change the oil every 3000 - 5000 or every 3 months to make sure Your engine is running at its peak efficiency. The cost for oil for the vehicle will range from $5 - $12 per quart depending on the brand and type of oil. The synthetic oil will cost more than the conventional oil as it will keep the motor lubricated for longer and will last longer before an oil change.

NISSAN recommends Genuine NISSAN Engine Oil available at a NISSAN dealer. If the Nissan engine oil is not used, the approved engine oil for the 2011 Nissan Versa is the viscosity of SAE 5W-30 or the API Certification Mark. The engine oil capacity for the 2011 Nissan Versa MR18DE engine is 4.3 quarts (4.1 liters) and 3.1 quarts (3.0 liters) for the HR16DE engine.
