The recommended oil types used on the 2012 Mercedes Benz C A-Classre SAE 0W-40 and SAE 5W-40. Only those two are allowed to be used on Your C-Class vehicle. If You would like to know what the capacity is on Your vehicle, then it iS5.8 US quarts on the C250. The C250 4MATIC and C350 4MATIC have a capacity of 7.4 US quarts. The C63 AMG has a capacity of 9 US quarts. The purpose of engine oil is to maintain and preserve the life of Your motor. To do this, check the oil level every week to make sure it is not too low.
