The 2013 Jeep Compass has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs and that is the amount of weight that can be pulled behind the vehicle. It has a torque of 141 to 165 lb-ft, which is the amount of turning power that a vehicle has. It has a payload of 1,250 to 1,353 lbs, which is the amount of weight that can be carried inside of the vehicle. The tongue weight is 200 lbs, which is the weight is the downward force that the tongue of the trailer puts on the hitch and is usually 10% of the towing capacity. When driving, You should brake sooner and make wider turns. To stay safe when towing You should do safety checks before driving. Always check the tires, the brake lights and that the trailer is secured correctly.

The Compass by Jeep for 2013, has a limited towing capacity of 1,000 lbs. Part of the reason for the limitation on the towing capacity is due to the tongue limit of 100 lbs. And the torque limitation of 165 lb-ft.
