The type of oil that is needed for the 2014 Kia Sportage iS5W-30 or 5W-40 in all temperatures for the 2.0 L 4Cylinder and SAE 5W-20 Synthetic for the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine. The capacity for the Sportage iS4.9 quarts with a filter for the 2.0 L 4Cylinder and the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine. Oil is used to help keep the engine clean and after a while it goes bad so it needs to be changed every now and then. The oil and the filter should be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles to keep the vehicle running smoothly. The cost of a change is anywhere from $20 to $30 if taken to a mechanic in labor costs.

The 2014 Kia Sportage engine oil capacity is 4.9 quarts (4.6 liters). Kia's recommended engine oil is the 5W-20 for all climate temperature for the 2.4L engine. In an area of extreme cold, where the temperature falls below −29°C (−20°F), an SAE 10W-30 oil may be used. SAE 5W-30, 5W-40 is recommended for the 2014 Kia Sportage 2.0L engine.
