2014 Nissan Maxima: What is the oil type and capacity?

For the 2014 Nissan Altima the recommended oil is SAE 5W-30 and You'll need 5-1/8 quarts with an oil filter change and about 4-3/4 quarts without it. You should be using a Genuine Nissan engine oil or an equivalent type as long as it has the API certification seal on the bottle. A genuine Nissan oil filter is also recommended but not necessary. Just make sure You find a compatible filter and replace it at every oil change. The intervals for these changes will depend on the type of oil You choose.
