For the 2014 Nissan Altima the recommended oil is SAE 5W-30 and You'll need 5-1/8 quarts with an oil filter change and about 4-3/4 quarts without it. You should be using a Genuine Nissan engine oil or an equivalent type as long as it has the API certification seal on the bottle. A genuine Nissan oil filter is also recommended but not necessary. Just make sure You find a compatible filter and replace it at every oil change. The intervals for these changes will depend on the type of oil You choose. Try to do it every 5,000 miles with a conventional oil and closer to every 7,500 miles if You go with a synthetic oil. -
