The type of oil that should be used in the 2017 Dodge Charger depends on the engine. For the 3.6 L V6 and the 5.7 L V8 You should use 5W-20 Synthetic and for the 6.2 L V8 and 6.4 L V8 engine You should use 0W-40 Synthetic. The capacity iS5.9 quarts with a filter for the 3.6 L V6 and for the rest of the engines it iS7 quarts with a filter. All of them have a torque of 20 ft/lbs for the drain plugs. You should do an oil and filter change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles or whenever the oil life indicator comes on, whichever comes first. The cost of an oil change is between $30 and $40 in labor costs.

The 2017 Dodge Charger has 4 engine options. The oil type for all is a fully synthetic oil. The 3.6 L V6 runs on SAE 5W-20 and holds 5.9 quarts. The 5.7 L V8 also uses SAE 5W-20 and holds 7 quarts. The 6.2 L V8 and the 6.4 L V8 hold 7 quart but need a viscosity of SAE 0W-40.

Negative on changing oil based off mileage. It should be based off of engine hours.
