In the 2018 Chevrolet Trax, You can reset the change oil light by first turning the car's ignition to the run position. Go ahead and press the menu button found on the signal lever. This shows the remaining oil life prompt. You have to select set/clr and reset it to 100%. After doing this, turn the ignition back to the off position. Keep in mind that this oil light is not a malfunction, but a standard reminder that You should change Your oil. This light will typically come on in intervals of 3,000 to 5,000 miles on most cars. Resetting it does not mean You should not go and get an oil change.

The change oil light is reset on the 2017 chevrolet trax by setting the ignition to the on position without starting the engine. Then press the menu button located on the turn signal lever until the "remaining oil life" is displayed. Then press and hold the "set/clr" button until the display changes to 100%. A message will appear asking you to confirm. Select "yes" in order to confirm the reset.
