The 2018 Toyota Highlander useS4.6 quarts of oil for the 2.7L 4Cylinder engine, and 5.8 quarts of oil for the 3.5L V6 engine. Both of the engines do use SAE 0W-20, and Toyota recommends using synthetic oil whenever You need to change it. There are two major types of oil on the market, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is engineered to give You better lubrication performance and a longer oil life than conventional petroleum based oil. This means that You can go 7,500 miles between changes with synthetic compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 miles of conventional. Make sure to check Your oil at least once a month to ensure that it is full and free from damage or debris.
