The 2018 Toyota Prius oil type and capacity is 0w-20 and 4.4 quarts. Having high quality oil is important for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into problems with the oil at some point. Old or bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. Knocking noise may come about from the engine. You could experience terrible gas mileage. A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. Your oil needs to be changed out someday. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be problems with the engine.

The 2018 Toyota Prius requires SAE 0W-20 full synthetic oil in all temperatures. The car's 4-cylinder engine has the capacity to hold 4.4 quarts during a filter change.

The 2018 Prius Prime does not take 0W-20 I am surprised that they will try to tell you that at the Toyota parts center too. 2018 takes 5W-20 right there in black and white if any have read the 3 book novel in their glove box. As for the parts department just tell them to look it up their expression is priceless right before they back peddle and say well it’s the same engine as the 2019 which in fact does say 0W-20 is used. Not that it matters much I just like to l keep the engine oil the same as it was when I drove it off the dealership lot their mechanics always got it right by the way. As far as price here in Southern California $99 for a change now used to be $55 but for no specific reason 1 by one over about 6 months they raised the price. Still use their oil and filter but do it my self and save $60
