Oil comes in two major varieties, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is made with petroleum and synthetic is engineered in a lab to give You better protection than conventional. Synthetic also will last longer than conventional, with synthetic You can go 7,500 miles between changes compared to 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. I recommend that You check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is in good condition. You will want to make sure it is free from debris or signs of burning.
