While there are no recalls, open or otherwise, for the 2014Chevrolet Cruze's PCV valve, there is a relevant technical service bulletin (PIP5197) that addresses some issues in this and other models and model years. While a TSB isn't quite as serious as a recall, it still indicates that there's a longstanding problem with the component, so much so that the manufacturer needs to intervene. In this particular case, you'll be looking for excessive oil consumption, oil leaks, or blue smoke coming from the exhaust. This may be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes P0106, P0171, P0299, P0507, P1101, or P2096. In this case, it's likely that a missing or improperly seated intake manifold non return valve has damaged the PCV orifice diaphragm. Unfortunately, this is only covered for vehicles still under warranty; otherwise, the cost will fall to the consumer.

I have had this issue about 4-5 times now. Each time costing $990 then found oil leak next day costing another 250$ to replace valve cover gasket? Really when is Chevrolet going to do something. I’m tired of same problem and nothing is done. I can’t keep affording this issue arises every 6 months. Anyone else ready for lawsuit to Chevrolet for costs of repairs and a car that has constant repairs? I am. Mine is a 2012 with 130k miles. It’s a commuter car I use about 4 miles round trip pe
