The 2012 Honda Civic Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor is attached on the right hand side of the engine bay at the rear of the valve cover, near the intake manifold. The sensor is mounted below the cover of the timing chain in front of the cylinder head. The main role of the CMP is to define the position of the camshaft as it relates to the crankshaft.
