Unlike some competitors at the time, anti-lock brakes were not a standard feature on the 2006 Toyota Corolla when it was manufactured. This safety feature was optional on all trims for this model, but not standard on any. If You've purchased Your vehicle pre-owned and You're not sure if it is equipped with this feature or not, there are two methods to use to find this answer. First, turn the key in the ignition to ON and watch for an ABS light to illuminate on the dash when the other lights come on. Second, You can look near the front of the engine compartment on the passenger side for the ABS module. The anti-lock braking system is designed to help the driver make safer, more controlled stops, by automatically pumping the brakes to help prevent skidding.
