The 2006 Chevy Silverado has a cabin air filter that is located behind the glove compartment in the cabin of the truck. To access this You will need to completely remove the glove boxAnd then You can get to the panel that is behind it. The stock filter that comes with Your truck is made out of folded paper and is good at filtering out the dust and allergens from the air before they make it into Your cabin. If You want greater filtration there are carbon options as well as versions that have baking soda in them to keep Your vehicle smelling fresh for longer.

Yes the 2006 1500 and 2500 have cabin air filters.it is behind your glove box. Open glove box depress tabs on left and right of box till it drops open. Remove the 5/16 screw on right side to allow box to open father. Straight back you will find three tabs. Unsnap them drop door down and you will see the filter. Reverse step to put back together. This is a single filter not like earlier models that show two filters sliding upward from underneath

Chevrolet and GMC did not have cabin filters from 2003 to 2010. There is a spot under the dash where you can cut away plastic and get the door from AC Delco so it can be retrofitted to have one

I have looked everywhere and removed areas that I was directed to remove by watching youtube. No cabin filter area is located.

Wrong.... The 2006 chevy silverado 1500 does have a cab air filter..... But you have to pull the entire accumulator box out to change it. And it's not a paper filter. It's a foam filter. Will cost more to change than it's worth. Pull the fan out and hit it with an air blower. Then spray some odor killer in it. Much cheaper and less time.
