The Honda CR-V has a back up camera for the parking assistance. If the camera is not working then there are three common reasons why. The first is that the camera has been damaged by road debris and will need to be repaired. The second is that the wire that powers it is bad. Finally, and most commonly, the fuse that powers the system may have burnout. The fuse box is to the left of the steering wheel, under a panel that can be removed. Look for the seam. Fuses are cheap and easy to fix, so You should be able to do it for about 10 to 15 dollars.

A backup camera does not meet the requirements of of a parking assist system. A Parking assist system includes detectors on the front, rear and four corners of the vehicle. The system also provides both visual and audible indications of proximity to an object inside the cabin. As a result of searching the web, I do not see where any CRV model has a true Parking Assist System. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
