The Mazda CX5 does support wireless CarPlay in the 2019 models as stated by the manufacturer. The model does have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available which can help integrate Your phone and the cars infotainment system. These features allow You to use many apps such as music apps like Spotify or Pandora and control it with voice activation with Siri or Your phone. You will need the apps installed on Your phone to work properly and either be enabled by bluetooth or connecting Your phone to the vehicle's USB port. This should automatically connect You to the car and allow to You integrate Your phone with the car and allows You the freedom of hand-free calling as well as other amenities.
Are you guys sure, the process required to connect wirelessly requires Apple Car Play to be selected? I have a 2020 Cx5 and Apple Car Play is only selectable (bolded) when the phone is connected via USB. What am I missing?

I have tried all the Bluetooth connection suggestions on my 2020Mazda CX-5 and they do not work. The CarPlay feature within the vehicle’s app will not activate unless there is a USB connection
Yes, however, there are known significant issues with the Infotainment system in general, including carplay.
