Youll be glad to know that the 2009 Chevrolet HHR has a timing chain, and not a timing belt. This means that it should last You the lifetime of Your car, unless something serious happens to Your vehicle along the way. To keep Your chain in smooth working order, one of the biggest things You can do for it is stay on top of oil changes and checks. The recommended intervals for oil and oil filter changes are every 10,000 or so miles. You should also be checking the oil levels about once a month. The range needs to fall somewhere between the MINImum and maximum lines, and if You find it above or below, drain or top up as needed.

The 2009 chevy hhr has a timing chain and it should be replaced at 100,000 miles.
