Does the 2000 Nissan Quest have a timing belt or chain?

The 2000 Nissan Quest comes equipped with a timing belt instead of the timing chain. There is not much difference between them except for where they are located and what they are made from. The timing belt is on the outside of the engine and the chain is on the inside of the engine. Because of this the belt is exposed to things and goes through wear and tear. Since the belt goes through wear and tear it needs to be replaced every so often unlike the chain which should last for the life of the vehicle. The belt needs to be replaced every 60,000 to 100,000 miles or so. The cost to have it replaced is between $350 and $440 in labor costs and extra for parts.
