The 2004 Honda Accord with a V6 engine uses a timing belt but the 4Cylinder engine option uses a timing chain. Because it uses a timing belt You should check Your manual to confirm the maintenance for it but I believe You should try to change it every 60,000 miles or so. Over time the belts are vulnerable to drying out and breaking. When they start to fail You may hear some unusual engine noise or You may have difficulty starting Your engine. When You notice these signs You should have it dealt with quickly before the problem becomes more serious. -
