The 2006 Ford Explorer's Advancetrac RSC is a vehicle stability control system, specifically designed to addreSSRoll-over in SUVs. Advancetrac is meant to improve traction on snowy, icy, rough and rain-soaked roads, and even dry pavement. "RSC" stands for "roll-over stability control" and works by sensor input that's generated 150 times per second as the driver moves across the road, adjusting the braking of one or more wheels to keep the Explorer traveling in the same direction and upright. However, if sensors start to go bad, the system will generate errors, cycling off traction control or engaging it when it is not required. Some complain acceleration is affected adversely as well. Cost to replace the yaw sensor on the Ford Explorer range from $700-$800 in parts and labor.
